This project consisted of the revitalization of an existing neighbourhood park within a mature community. The key components of this park renovation included the complete redesign and replacement of the existing play systems, walkways and seating spaces. The new design embraced the challenges of the varied topography and large mature trees to create a shaded playground sanctuary defined by plantings and natural stone edges. A mix of materials including concrete, asphalt, unit pavers and natural stone collectively work to provide for interesting forms and textures and a variety of seating and gathering opportunities.
